Champion Epirus is a very important and rare cane corso
to our breed.
Starting in 2001, for 4 years we researched lineage and progression
of the breed here within the U.S. and in Italy. We sorted thru
many pedigrees, litters and breeders’, searching for what
we found and believe is truly a fantastic line of cane corsos.
Champion Epirus comes from the Bel Monte Line, a very tight
and original line here in the U.S. The Bel Monte Kennel has
done so much for the breed worldwide. Bel Monte Kennel has produced
the most U.S. champions due too their many years of breeding
knowledge and realty of bringing this breed to light in the
U.S. If you look at Champion Epirus’s pedigree, you will
notice that we were trying to go back to Bel Monte’s original
lines. Champion Epirus’s sire is Grand Champion Bel Monte
Primo Padrino and his dam is Working Champion Bel Monte Courtney.
Bel Monte Courtney was out of one of the last litters which
Champion Bel Monte Rocco sired. Champion Bel Monte Rocco is
seen in the majority of the pedigrees of cane corso breed here
in the U.S. because of his production and that he is the famous
son to Dual Champion Bel Monte Cocomo, one of the original “Super
6” brought here in the 1980's from Italy. To add to this
amazing lineage the majority of Champion Epirus’s pedigree
consists of champion cane corsos.
If you look at the corsos which make up Champion Epirus’s
grandparental line, you find Grand Champion Bel Monte Nero,
who many say was the best corso ever produced in the U.S., Champion
Bel Monte Knight, a multi reproduction champion, Champion Bel
Monte Rocco, as mentioned before and Bel Monte Ace, who has
produced many champions.
Champion Epirus achieved his present multi championship honor
at the young age of 8 months old, without the services of a
professional handler. He is a CCAA Champion, NAKC Pending Grand
Champion American and Canadian.
In our views he is a very sculpted corso, tight, muscular, and
very fit. His head is wide bear like and he has an incredible
stop, short mussel and a level bite, leaning toward undershot.
He does not have loose skin and virtually never drools. He is
26.5” from the withers and weighs a lean 110lbs. His temperament
is unbelievable, obedient and orderly. His movement is unmatchable;
a perfect top line complements his gate.
There’s no briefing to justify Champion Epirus.
We are excited about his future and expect him to contribute
as a great representative of his champion bloodline.
